Meet the Katies!
The Little Plume started with two Katies, two baby girls, a group of friends, and one of those conversations that somehow turned into something much bigger.
Before becoming moms, we were both teachers. Then, within about a month of each other, we welcomed our daughters, Eleanor and Eloise, and found ourselves navigating motherhood side by side.
Not long after, a conversation with friends sparked the idea for a classic stork announcement business here in Charlotte. We couldn’t stop thinking about it and before we knew it, we were sketching, painting, building, and bringing The Little Plume to life.
We wanted to create something that made bringing a new baby home feel as special on the outside as it does inside: a beautiful, timeless way to announce that someone very loved has arrived.
Our signature storks are hand-finished heirloom yard announcements created to celebrate new babies, growing families, and those once-in-a-lifetime homecomings. And because we believe the sweetest details are the ones you get to keep, each stork comes with a personalized keepsake sign made just for your family.
Today, The Little Plume is a true labor of love. Built between motherhood, our families, and lots of late nights, and inspired every day by the two little girls who made us moms in the first place.
